Horses have always been my favourite subject. I remember when I was in the 4 and 5th grade I was obsessed with drawing horses and must have filled up a couple of drawing copies with just drawings of horses. I was always fascinated by the grace, beauty and magnificence of this great beast and have tried to capture this essence in this painting. The painting is oil on canvas, size is 2.5 feet by 1.5 feet, with a black wooden frame.

Joy & Sorrow

Joy : These two paintings are an abstract expression of Joy and Sorrow. They are mixed medium on paper and have very fine and intricate pen work and colour variation. The designs and placement of complementing colours next to each other required utmost concentration and calm, so I would usually start working on these paintings at mid night and continue till dawn. These painting like the other I did in this series of painting help in colour therapy. They create a positive atmosphere, enhance people’s mood and do away with depression and gloom if hung in the room. Personal favorite of mine.
Sorrow :
Awakening of the consciousness
This is a special effect painting which has a glowing effect in dim light. It is a very powerful painting in the sense it has a very powerful presence, if put up in a room it is not possible for anybody not to notice it. I recall once at an exhibition of my works a gentleman was so engrossed looking at this painting that he must have stood 30 minutes in front of this painting absolutely transfixed. The painting is an abstract impression of the awakening of the consciousness or the subconscious mind, signified by the open eye in the center of the forehead. I got the basic idea of this painting while in deep meditation, of which I made a sketch first and then made this painting. The painting has very fine brush work, knife work and intricate designs made with needles. This painting is Oil on Canvas. Its size is 105 x 75 cm and has a black wooden frame of 5 cm wide.
EDEN

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and so is the beauty and value of art. In the olden days, before the communications revolution, it was a few assorted experts, art critics and art galleries that decided what was art and how desirable it was. Anyone who did not have access to those experts and galleries had essentially no chance to have their art seen and discussed by an audience outside of friends and family. As a result, many great artists were never discovered and their art languished in their studios, seen by no one. This is really an unacceptable situation. Art should be accessible to anyone, and people should be able to discuss it, comment on it, and even submit their own art in places where artists and art enthusiasts gather.
Fortunately, the increasing availability of the Internet is changing the ways in which artists can present their work and invite feedback and discussion.
This painting is a beautiful Oil on Canvas landscape painting titled (Eden). Size 120 x 90 cm with a black wooden frame 5 cm wide around it. It took me 6 months to make and was the most enjoyable experience of my life.

FRUIT OF OUR DEEDS
FRUIT OF OUR DEEDS:This is one of the most intricate painting I ever made its 4 feet by 3 feet in size, on canvas. The basic coat on the canvas in Oil paint and on top of that is acrylic paint. All the lines and the shadings we see in this painting are not made by colours, but by scratching the overlaying layer of acrylic paint with needles and blades ( So the colours or the white and yellow lines which are showing are of the basic coat of paint in Oil ). It took 9 months to make and was very hard work indeed, I had to tie my hand with a string by a nail in the wall behind me and then hold a needle or blade and do the scratching accurately.
As in all abstract paintings the viewer usually takes out their own meaning of the painting by looking at it. However here I would like to give my explanation of this painting to help the viewer look at it in a different perspective. In the center of the painting we see a human head with its eyes blindfolded. The blindfold signifies how in this materialistic world humans have got so engrossed that they have forgotten about the true meaning of life and how it should be led, as taught by all religions which is signified by the book in front of the head. Between the head and the holy book is a wall which signifies the materialistic world which keeps humans away from righteousness and good. Also in front of the head is an hour glass which signifies the time of ones life which is passing by and behind the head we see a sort of a scroll on which is being written an account of the good deeds and the bad deeds of the individual and when the time of life is over, according to the account of ones deed the person would either find heaven or go through the gates of hell which one can see closed now behind the head with the devil standing next to it in the shape of a butterfly.
Would love to hear comments on this painting so please tell me what you think.
